One of the first things to cross off on the checklist (aside from the flowers!) is the venue. We’ve compiled a list of a few of our favourite venues in Vancouver.
6251 Cecil Green Park Rd, Vancouver
A historic house built in 1912 features a beautiful solarium, infamous fireplace, and mahogany furnished library. Cecil Green Park house is tucked away in a quieter area of the UBC campus and overlooks the North Shore and the Strait of Georgia. Their garden is meticulously groomed, and is the perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony. The smaller rooms are great for smaller weddings and events without compromising any of the luxury.
610 Pipeline Rd, Vancouver
Tucked away amongst the lush trees is the Stanley Park Pavillion. There are several venue options for both larger and smaller weddings that will leave any bride salivating. The rose gardens are a a favourite among couples for picutres and ceremonies. Being completely surrounded by nature, we forget that the hustle and bustle of Downtown Vancouver is only minutes away.
1489 McRae Ave, Vancouver
A 30-room hertitage Edwardian style home located in the classy Shaughnessy neighbourhood owned by the University women’s club. The regal feeling four-story mansion boasts a number of rooms that could accomodate ceremonies, formal receptions, and cocktail receptions. Perhaps my favourite thing about Hycroft is the option for an al fresco reception in the walled garden–a perfect night under the stars.
3875 Point Grey Rd, Vancouver
Yet another intimate setting in a heritage home (we love that vintage feel!). Brockhouse is right on the water and their beautiful garden also has a view of the Strait of Georgia. Jericho beach is just steps away from the property, so there are some convenient photo ops if you want a bit of varied scenery. Check out this photo shoot we did for the cover of It’s Love back in August in the gardens at Brock House.
3102 Main Street, Vancouver
The architecture at Heritage Hall is perhaps one of the more unique options for your venue. The building is an unexpected piece of history that is in the hipster-populated Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood (totally bike accessable). Since Heritage Hall isn’t in a residential neighbourhood, you can celebrate your wedding into the wee hours night. With rates starting at $400, the affordability of this venue makes it a top contender for budget brides.
